I'm Home!

Hello!
Sorry about the hiatus, I would say that I was busy but that's not completely true. I got pretty annoyed at blogging on my iPad because you can't scroll once you've typed anything in  so that made it very difficult. Then, when I got back, it was like a Mount Everest of homework and other stuff, and then three of my teachers decided to give quizzes two days after I got back, so I was a bit stressed. It's okay now though!
I would like to say that I have an exciting new craft project or something, but I don't at the moment, because every weekday was spent at school and then doing homework until about 8:00, so I really didn't have a lot of time to do anything. I don't know whether or not I'll update this week, because I have one more quiz, then a test, and also an essay to write. Oh well, I don't want to bore you with my work! Go out somewhere and have fun and I'll write next weekend at the very least.

Sooooo...

Hi! I decided to give up on posting any other pictures that aren't absolutely amazing because they take way too much time to set up and add in. Today was really great, we went sledding down one mountain then went to the city. It was quite fun!
Tomorrow, we're planning on skiing and then skating at the rink again because it was so great today. I hope you had a great day and I'll update tomorrow!

~Sara

By the way, tomorrow is 2.21.13, or 221B day! Yay!

Hi again!

Guess whaaaat! It's my birthday today! I'm quite excited because, well, a) I'm in the land of cheese and chocolate, and b) because I am now fifteen!
Also, here's something that I got in email when I woke up this morning...

Isn't that just the best thing ever? Thank you, Mom! And once again, sorry for screwing up the Blogger template with a ginormous image... I have absolutely no idea how to fix it, but I want to add more picuutres in the coming days, so if it bothers you, I'm sorry about that. Also, maybe I should say that my iPad is still set to my usual time zone, so it wasn't actually 3:00am when I read it...

I will definitely try to post more tonight because we're going sledding since we didn't yesterday, and we're going into a nearby city that shall remain nameless because I don't want creepy stalkers.

I hope you got to see the awesomeness that was that poster/card thing because I loved it! Now it's time to start the day! Bye!

Missing Pictures

Like I said, Blogger and the iPad don't play we'll together. Here are the pictures that I tried to add:

I'm Heeeere!

Hi!
I am writing this from the kitchen table of our friends' house in Switzerland! We just ate lunch after skating here:

... Which is pretty impressive.
Sorry if there are formatting problems, the iPad and Blogger don't play well together.

Apparently, they also have Whomping Willows here:

I'm going to write more tonight if I can, because we're on our way to go sledding. But when the Swiss say sledding, they mean flying around the side of a mountain on ski trails. I might take some pictures if possible and add them here. Bye!

Easy, Geeky Bookmarks!

Bonjour!
Today, I made some really simple, cool bookmarks out of Doctor Who images! You can do this one of two ways. The first way takes about ten minutes and is for those of you, who, like myself, are impatient. The second way is better if you only have a few minutes here and there to work on it. Either way works, but the latter will probably last longer in the end.

If you've chosen the first way, you will need:
  • A clear image, which is about 5 to 6 inches tall and 1 to 3 inches wide. All of mine are just from Google Images, but if you have extra time, you can draw something and then use that...
  • Freezer Paper (I love that stuff!), which can be found in most grocery stores.
  • An X-Acto knife or scissors, whichever you prefer.
  • An iron
...And instructions:
  • Take your image and put a piece of freezer paper (shiny side facing the back of the image) on the back of it. Iron it well, so that there aren't any big wrinkles or bubbles. I had a few, but if you go over it a few times with the iron, it should look okay.
  • Now, cut out the image with the X-Acto knife, being sure not to separate the paper and the freezer paper.
  • You're done! Wasn't that easy?
If you've chosen the second path, here's what you'll need:
  • Another image, as detailed above.
  • Elmer's Glue or similar
  • A paintbrush
  • Poster board (like the kind you can roll up for school projects), or I suppose a manila file folder or oaktag paper might work too.
  • An X-Acto knife or scissors.
  • Something flat and heavy to put on top of your paper while it dries, like a textbook.
...And instructions:
  • Use your image and paint the glue lightly on the back of it, making sure you get all of the corners but you don't saturate the paper.
  • Press it on the poster board/oaktag/folder and smooth out all of the little wrinkles.
  • Place under the heavy object for several hours and let it dry.
  • When it's completely dried, cut out the pieces of the image that you want, and voila! There's your extra-durable bookmark!
  • Also, to make it last even longer and make it shiny, you could paint ModgePodge over the top of it. Just make sure you let it dry before sticking it in your book!
I have no idea why, but whenever I try to insert an image into this post, it puts it at the top, so you can see the final products right under the heading up there ^. The Weeping Angel was made using the first method, and the Dalek was made with the second. I hope you enjoyed this!
The next time I post, it may be from Switzerland! See you soon!

Hello!

This is just a really quick update to say that I have an exciting project coming up that I'll hopefully post on Friday or Saturday. Also, I'm going to try to do a daily update while I'm in Switzerland because I finally figured out how to work Blogger on the iPad! So yay! I've got to get back to my homework now because my group in World Civ did absolutely nothing and now I'll be up really late working on a three-person project by myself.

Anyway, I'll try to post on time for once with my project, but we'll see how that goes. Bye!
